Theia Marketing Guest Posting Guidelines

2020 September 24 16:00 GMT-06:00

Thank you for your interest in writing as a guest blogger for Theia Marketing’s Guide to Marketing Blog!

We are always looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable marketers who have exceptional writing skills and would like to share their expertise with professionals in the SaaS, engineering, and manufacturing industries.

We have received a lot of inquiries regarding guest posting opportunities with Theia Marketing. Our team takes this process seriously. Jon Cook of Keynote Content had this to say,

“Before you consider any other detail of guest posting, you need to embrace the responsibility. You are responsible for serving your newfound audience with the same level of excellence, care, and value as you would expect others to give you for your time. Bring your best effort! Be profoundly intentional in your writing -- no throwaway sentences allowed! Embrace this amazing opportunity because every word you write frames their first impression of you and your expertise. Backlinks, SEO titles, data -- every element needs to reinforce the belief that you value your reader's time.

If you are serious about increasing your visibility through guest blogging, please take some time to review this entire page to learn about the kind of content we are looking for and how our guest posting process works.

We value each pitch we receive and evaluate it based it on the following criterion.

What we look for in a guest post

Our target audience consists of marketers and professionals in the SaaS, engineering, and manufacturing industries. Therefore, successful blog contributions should be insightful, data-driven, and cover topics that our readers are likely to find interesting.

We are interested in guest posts that cover topics such as technical marketing trends, SEO, paid ads, content marketing, email marketing, and social media.

These are a few things we look for in every blog post we publish:

  • Concepts are original, arguments are fleshed out, and writing is high-quality. We will not publish anything republished on another website, including your website, LinkedIn, Medium.
  • If a guest writer is interested in a topic that has been extensively covered, the article should have a unique approach to the subject.
  • Blog posts are written to match Theia Marketings style and tone. We aim for articles to be casual and informative.
  • Give credit where credit is due. Any data, quotes, or additional content you refer to should be attributed to the sourceAny information you include should be recent, less than two years old. HubSpot’s guide to citations is a useful reference.
  • A maximum of 2 links to your website is allowed within the body of the post.
  • Link to two of Theia Marketing’s blog posts.

Writing quality content is essential for us. For tips on how to find a unique approach to any topic, consider what Jean Tang, CEO of MarketSmiths, had to say:

In terms of substance, focus on key principles, but also give it your personal touch. What are people less likely to know? What advice can you give that’s unique? Can you weave in data, trends, and other findings?

Addressing these aspects in your writing will ensure you can add a different spin to any subject.

Things to avoid in a guest post

There are things we will not accept from guest posts, including:

  • Low-quality writing with spelling or grammar errors
  • Linking to any of Theia Marketing’s direct competitors
  • Linking to resources that do not help benefit readers
  • Writing that serves to promote your company or personal brand
  • Commentary that is inaccurate, offensive, or extensively critical of an organization or a person

If a guest post does not comply with any of the above points, we reserve the right to decline to publish the article.
